The 1.9 release brings a large number of improvements for user management, video uploads, Actions, emails, new languages and more.

We have added the possibility to resend user invitations. Sometimes, when inviting new users, they miss the invitation email or simply forget to register. We have added a function where administrators can easily resend the invitation message and/or copy the invitation link to the clipboard in case they want to send the invitation themselves. Resend Invitation and Invitation Link is available for users that have a Learnster account but have never logged in and is replaced with the regular Reset or change password dialog once the user has registered his/her account.

Video files normally include preferred rotation settings by default, i.e. if the video should be displayed in a horizontal (landscape) or vertical (portrait) position. We use this information when playing the video in Learnster U. Some devices, like iPhones for instance, does however not include this information. If so, our video encoding robots do their best trying to figure out how the video should be rotated 🤖 🔎 🎞️ 🤔 Being robots, they normally get it right but they are not perfect (please don't tell them you heard this from me) and sometimes the video gets the wrong rotation.

Now you can control the video rotation when uploading the file using Video Settings.

With the same dialog, you can also set the video quality. Generally, we recommend the highest available quality since we, by default, adapt the video quality to the user's device and internet connection. But if you would like to save disk space and bandwidth a lower default quality can be chosen.

We have added the possibility to upload pictures, videos, audio files, documents and SCORM files to a media library. These images, videos etcetera can then be used by course designers when creating course content.

You can now use Unsplash images directly in courses making creating beautiful content even simpler.

Let's face it, bulk uploads are hard. All those rows needing to be in the exact right order, or forgetting one small email address and the whole thing goes south. But now, you can test your bulk upload file before trying to run it for real. Just choose the file and click the Test File button and the bulk upload robots will assess it for you and, unfortunately (nine times out of ten), tell you it's invalid 😜

We have added scheduling options to Actions so you can delay/schedule Actions to happen after X days.

We have made links that are displayed in notifications more clear and visible to minimize the risk of users missing links.

In some cases, it might be useful to be able to add a secondary email address for a user. For instance, perhaps you would like to have both the company and private email addresses for your users in Learnster. And now you can 😀 !

The secondary email can be turned on/off under Settings/General.

You can now schedule to periodically click the "Run Tag Actions" button. One of the nifty things with Tag Rules are that they are only applied for events that happen in the future. This means for instance that, if a user has these rules condition:

IF a user has the tag Result Tag AND has Learnster as his/her Company attribute => assign them to the course Animals in Africa

...this rule will only be evaluated when changes happen to users tag assignments or company attribute. Sometimes however, you don't only want for a Tag Rule to be applied for future conditions, but also for current state. For this, we have always had the Run Tag Actions button, which evaluates the current state of the system and applies the rules according to the current state.

For some conditions however, it's convenient to be able to automatically "click" the Run Tag Actions button on a periodical schedule - and now you can 🥳.

Quiz statistics now include attempts and shares of first, second and third passes.

It's been a long wait but we've finally been given notice that with the blessing of Albus Dumbledore himself, the Ministry of Magic has given us permissions to use the name invitation links have always deserved. Invitation links are now Magic links.

Learnster Teams is a great feature for letting managers actively work with their team's training. But Teams can also be used by administrators to organize the organization into sections in order to, for instance, follow up statistics. In these cases, it's not always desirable to show the users which "Administration Teams" they are organized in. You can now choose to hide these teams from learners so they are not visible in U.

In the past, Pages had a description field directly under the page heading. The purpose for the description field was to provide a very short description of the content but it was very easy to mistake it for a text field.

We have therefore removed the description field. Existing pages with a description will continue working as before but new pages will not include a description field.
