About Global Settings

When creating a quiz, you may want to configure a number of settings for the quiz. Global settings will affect the settings for all the existing questions in a particular quiz.

Follow the steps below to find the global settings for a quiz.

Once logged into Learnster Studio:

  • Open a quiz that you've created in library or in a course outline.

  • Enter the quiz that you have selected and go to the global settings page.

Quiz Settings

Here you see the different settings that can be used to customize your quiz:

  • Require passing score to continue - enables you to decide whether a learner should always complete a quiz or if the learner is required to score above passing score. Please note that if this setting is disabled, the learner will automatically pass the quiz.

  • Passing score enables you to set a passing score for a quiz. If the passing score is set to 100%, the quiz will require a learner to answer every question correctly. If the passing score is set to 0%, every learner who takes the quiz will automatically pass.

  • Number of quiz retries allowed enables you to restrict the amount of times a learner can retry a quiz. If this is set to 0, a learner will only be able to take the quiz once.

  • Reveal if the learner passed the quiz will hide the completion page from the learner when taking a quiz. The learner will only be presented with a message that the quiz has been finished.

  • Show passing score at the end of the quiz enables you to hide the passing score marker on the completion page from the learner when taking a quiz. The learner will not be able to see the required passing score that has been set to the quiz.

  • Allow navigation between questions is an option that allows users to navigate between questions, going back and forth, in quizzes.

Question options

  • Reveal the result after each question enables you to decide if a learner should be presented with a message whether a submitted answer was either correct or incorrect.

  • Reveal correct answer after each question enables you to decide if a learner should be presented with the correct answer option(s) if the submitted answer was incorrect.

  • Randomize the order of all questions will arrange the questions in a random order when taking the quiz

  • Shuffle answer choices will arrange the answer options in a random order when taking the quiz

Question feedback

  • Default success feedback is generated when a learner provides a correct answer to a question in the quiz.

  • Default fail feedback is generated when a learner provides an incorrect answer to a question in the quiz.

Question Settings

Question Settings are separate settings for the individual questions in a Quiz. If you want to override the global settings for an individual question, you can go to Question Settings and adjust these settings.

💡 The video below shows where to find the question settings for individual questions in your quiz.
