About Custom Roles

Take full control by managing roles more flexibly. You can create new roles with unique permissions across the system, courses, teams, and users, making sure everyone has access to what they need – and nothing more. As your organization grows or changes, you can update the roles in Studio, keeping the system in step with your needs.

Examples of use cases:

  • Create an alternate version of an existing role, such as "Admin Light" with slightly fewer permissions.

  • Create a "Team Content Designer" – a Content Designer but only with permissions to handle users from the team where they are also assigned the role of Team Content Designer.

  • Create a "Supervisor" – a version of a Team Manager that has "View only" permissions for multiple teams to track progress and follow up on training data.
